Seamless steel pipe(SEAMLESS STILL PIPE)

Seamless steel pipe is a steel pipe made of a certain outer diameter and thickness by heating the material such as the billet, making it into hollow material by making a hole in the center with a perforator, and then rolling or drawing with a drawer, and it is said seamless steel pipe because it is not welded. Unlike welded steel pipes,it does not have joints and is not limited in thickness, so it is used for special environments such as high temperature, high pressure and corrosion, for which general welded steel pipes cannot be used. It is used for offshore plants, oil wells, oil pipelines, subsea pipelines and nuclear power plants.

Quality

The types of steel pipes include welded steel pipes such as SAW steel pipes, ERW steel pipes, and SAWH spirals, but seamless (no-welded) pipes have superior quality in materials to welded pipes, and are used for nuclear power plants, crude oil excavators, and sales gas excavation etc. in the U.S. and for offshore plants, oil wells, oil pipelines, and undersea pipelines etc. in the Middle East, thanks to the long life and corrosion-resistance unrivalled bywelded steel pipes.

Market status

Large-diameterseamless steel pipe is not produced in Korea. In Japan, Nippon Steel Corporation only also produces a 420mm diameter of steel. In Asia, China is the only country that produces all kinds of steel pipes, and its exports of seamless steel pipe to Europe and the Americas are more than 5 million tonnes per year.
